All of Roy's ballad songs soothing and timeless....
Roy's voice is timeless...
1st time I've heard the OG version. LOVE it! The sax is killer!❤
Still better than today's music. 😎
I KNEW the version for sale on Amazon had to be a re-recording! Thank goodness for The 45 Professor!
This is the version that my dad bought when I was five and the version I like the best.
One of my all time favorites!!!
Funky and fun
Seared into my subconscious when I was a child
Can a yone tell me the proper version of this? I cant find it. I think he was also called jim...
FABULOSA ÚNICA,INCOMPARABLE MI IDOLA CONNIE FRANCIS
Acima de qualquer suspeita me trouxe aqui. Final decepcionante...
Are you planning on continuing to upload for anotherprof yet?
Yes...next week.

It's not known as far as I know if Billy was related to Vincent Eugene Craddock, a.k.a. Gene Vincent.
Bam! Right from the start, Jackie Trent belts out this terrific song! Marvelous voice who should have been a huge international star! Love her works, 👏👌♥️
I can't believe this wasn't a hit! In 55 Davey Crockett caps were all the rage
I know, I had several records and saw him in many movies, All I was saying is the only people see now is that special. Ironically, CBS only intended to use Rudolph one year, this Christmas Rudolph will be sixty!
I had a burl Ives LP with this song on it. I love Burl Ives and if it weren't for a particular CBS animated Christmas special, He would be totally forgotten! I love your channel!
Not hardly. He was an Oscar winning actor and a Grammy winning singer. The Rudolph special was just icing on the cake. 😊
Later sampled in Negativland’s 1989 album, “Helter Stupid”.
Sixty years later, good as gold. Superfab version by Frank Slay. Was sort of pre-disco disco. Also, a tuff 62 polka. Thanks, Frank & Swan records crew. Big novelty riff. Vive les rock, pop, retro freaks ....
backup group was The Swans, a black trio
I almost forgot about this song until I heard it on Sirius XM's 60s station. Usually, I think of the three songs you mentioned in the description plus two earlier ones, "Tears on my Pillow" and "Shimmy, Shimmy Ko Ko Bop".
Fuma la cachimba!
OH WOW!!!! We had this too - and I remember it from Wonderama
❤❤❤
One of my Pop's favorites! We had the 45 😎😎😎
❤
This was of my favorites, wrapped my shows over the years with it. The better version was by Bob Thompson Orchestra on RCA. Chucko the worn out DJ.
Another great rockin track by her is Live it up..
Sinatra's is better but this is a good version
More people need to realize Betty Hutton kicks a$$. I'm gonna go watch her do "Murder He Says" (with Bob Hope calling her a "vitimin pill with legs") and then "Old Man Mose."
Recorded on January 17, 1955. Chet Atkins, of course, is on second guitar.
Old civil war song
Great solo!
Going further back in pop history, Pee Wee established a new stylistic niche for himself after his long and distinguished stint with the great Casa Loma orch. A most enjoyable side, this.
What is it about this lovely tune, it tells me the story about heartbreak. She’s not for you they tell me, take the bitter pill and swallow it and move on. Well how its hurts that the one person you always wanted and it hurts even more that the other feels the same way in return ends up being the one you can never have. This track sums it up perfectly in all its glory.
they don't make music like they used to...
Only could give it the doo wop it deservied
Only the cardinals gave it the credit it deserved as a doo wop❤
I remember this track vividly, as it was on a 1967 RCA Camden compilation album, "Songs For The 'Out' Crowd." H. & J. were particular favorites of my late mother's.
Outstanding!! Get Me Another Beer!!!
In this case the cover by the Olympics was much better . Too slow and too much horns here.
S U P E R song... (Cole Porter forever) HU.
Such a shame these guys never had the success they deserved. Art Rupe didn't do enough to promote them to the deejays.
Here is what should be taken into strong observation. The rhythmic pattern of the drums and the tempo of the song, the lyrics, the cadence of the song, it was all very much ahead of its time, especially in 1959 when it was originally released. Ray was a pure genius.
Could you please record the flip side of this, i can't find a good quality version of it anywhere
I was in the 5th and 6th grades when this was popular. We were kids just becoming influenced by rock and roll and I remember we were learning from my older sisters how to dance to the Bop. I still love the swing of the songs of those days. People like Harris, the Platters, Coasters, Berry, and other great Black performers did more to convert us White kids out of the bonds of racism we grew up in, here in the south. I also give great credit to our US Army, in which I served from 66-69 for helping break those chains. However, I am so saddened to say that, during the past several years, the hate of racism has entered back into our churches, schools, and worst of all....our political arena. I truly hate to leave this world knowing what we Americans have wrought upon ourselves.
Still sounds good to me , even though there is a fairly subtle melodic difference and a minimalist orchestration compared with the subsequent two big commercially successful versions ; Tab's and Sonny's .
I was a kid in the 5th grade when this was popular. Everyone loved it...kids and adults sang it all the time. Such a catchy and carefree tune. I wish we could go back to those innocent days. But ten years later, Uncle Same would call me and my generation to a questionable war that none of us were prepared for and have never understood America since then.
I just finished watching scenes of Marie Barone from Everybody loves Ray, and then I came upon this, definitely would be Debra's song😂
We lived in SW FL at that time, it was a regional hit before it went national. I loved it then, and now.
